Barbara Berry

Moved to Oregon in 1975 and here to stay. I was married for 19 years from 1965 to 1982 and have stayed single since. Worked for 18 years for State of Oregon and 10 years for the labor union before retiring in 2002. Worked at Beech Aircraft, Chevrolet Motor Div, Santa Fe Trails & Transportation, Rock Island Oil Co and a couple of other places before moving from Wichita. Lived at Lake Tahoe summer 1966 and worked at Harrah's Club Casino & Theatre as a Personnel Asst in the Slots Dept.
Staying very busy these days learning dance steps for the Shimmy Mob which is May 13, taking computer classes so as not to get too far behind in technology and relearning how to sew on my new upgraded machine. Also this is my 6th year of Medical Qi Gong and sometimes I teach these classes at the dojo which has kept me going during times of health challenges. A key to maintaining health is to keep on movin' and breathin'.

I will forever remember those early morning band practices in the football field to prepare for performing the half-time shows. The clarinet keys would freeze as I'm sure other band members had instruments that froze up while we practiced.

I didn't stay in the marching band for the senior year but took office practice and business education and worked afternoons. I remember a representative from a finishing school came to class for 3 days or so and gave us a crash course on etiquette, how to dress properly and hygiene. I recently found the 3-page handout and it is pretty funny. May have to post it.
