Neil Warren (Business Teacher)

Neil Stuart Warren, 93, of Lindsborg, passed away August 21, 2013. He was born May 26, 1920, the son of James and Ada (Bacon) Warren in Jewell County, KS. Neil was a retired high school business teacher at Wichita West High School. On May 30, 1945, Neil was united in marriage to Helengrace Anderson.

Mr. Warren began teaching at Planeview High School (Aeronaut, February 2, 1950): "A farm boy,” Mr. Warren was graduated from high school in Superior, Nebraska. He then attended business college at Salina and worked as a dispatcher for two years for Greyhound bus lines before joining the Navy where he served as a pilot. Leaving the Navy in 1945 he worked as a bookkeeper in Salina. He then attended Bethany College at Lindsburg for two years and received his B.S. degree from Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia last month. (Source: Planeview/McCormick School Museum)

In 1983, Mr. Warren retired from West High after 33 years of teaching with 26 of those years at West. Mr. Warren taught all business courses at one time or another except accounting. (1983 Trail Yearbook)
