Alice Hayden Turley, 89, of Lakeview Care Center in Boonville died Friday, March 14, 2008. She was born on Dec. 5, 1918 in Blackwater, Mo. to Hall E. and Margaret J. Chambers Turley. She attended school in Blackwater and then Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Mo. on a Fulbright Scholarship and received a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She taught school for many years as a history teacher, also taught in Hannibal, Eureka and Lebanon and last taught in Wichita, Kan. for many years before retiring. She was a member of Federated Church of Arrow Rock, Mo. and had been president of Blackwater Senior Citizens.
