Harry Loignon

HARRY'S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran   

Harry Owen Loignon, 80, longtime Wichita resident, died Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Reeds Cove Health & Rehabilitation in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on February 25, 1944 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Owen W. and Madge Cunningham. The family moved from Michigan when Harry was a teenager. He graduated from Wichita West High School in 1962 and later attended Wichita State University where he played baseball.

During the Viet Nam Conflict, he served in the U.S. Navy

Through the years Harry had managed the Furr’s Cafeteria in Wichita and also operated a vintage bookstore and baseball card shop. Harry loved watching sports.

Survivors include his daughter Andrea Ellis of Wichita; three grandchildren Rebecca Gasaway, Matthew Ellis, Jennifer Park; four great grandchildren Jacob and Hailie Gasaway, Liam and Zander Park; and niece Kimberly Loignon.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard and Tom Loignon; and sister Judith Loignon-Reed.

Services will be announced by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Ks.
