I was in high school chemistry, taught by Mr. Johnson with Ron (AKA Grover - probably only by his parents).  He impressed me one day when he rattled off the entire Greek alphabet from memory in about 10 seconds.

Later he and I were in a modern physics class together at WSU - a light introductory course in relativity, particle physics and unification theories such as they were back then.

I regarded him as a fun sort of quirky intellectual.  I thought he must have gone to work for big bucks for a large corporation or perhaps opted for professorship.  Never occurred to me that he might have exited this world so early.

Anyone know how he died?

I remember Ron from Hamilton chess club, he was the one to beat there, and if you should have won a match with him you should drop out of chess club as you had gone as far as you could go. I am sorry we lost you so soon. God bless you   Bob

To answer Phil Hengen's question: Ron Galloway attended Wichita State University and received (I believe) a Chemistry degree in 1968.  I was an engineering student there thru 1969 and would run into Ron on campus.

I remember that he was being drafted into the army after his graduation.  I heard later that he had been killed in South Vietnam.
