Lois Wisler (Pe Teacher)

Lois was born in Harper, Kansas, on January 3, 1918, to Curtis and Getta Wisler and was one of eleven children. After graduating from high school in Harper, she went on to the University of Kansas where she excelled in sports and was named female athlete of the year in 1940. She graduated with a degree in education and began a career as a physical education teacher. Lois was a lifelong KU fan and tried to never miss watching any of their basketball games.

Lois enjoyed many happy years in retirement with her life partner of over sixty years, Bonnie Streck. After several years traveling, they settled in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and ultimately in Sun City, Arizona, where they continued their lifelong love of playing golf and playing bridge. Lois played her last round of golf at age 96, but continued to stay engaged and play bridge until well past her 100th birthday. She and Bonnie were faithful members of the First Christian Church of Sun City, Arizona.

Family was always very important to Lois and she was important to them.

She was preceded in death by Bonnie and by all of her siblings, but is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and their families. All of them remember her fondly and many recall how much she helped them and what a profound and positive impact she had on their lives. She was greatly loved and admired and will be missed by all.
