Dennie C. Bretz, 89, retired Mathematics Teacher for Wichita Public School System, passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on November 11, 2021. He was born in Wichita, Kansas, on January 9, 1932 to Admiral Clark Bretz and Elsie May Dexter. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, his first wife and the mother of his children, Doris Lucille Bretz and his 2nd wife and mother of his step-children, Ada Corena Bretz. Survived by his children: Cynthia Gray, Denise (Bill) Lefevre, Catherine (Scott) Selby, Dana Bretz; step-son: Shane Whitchurch; step-daughter: Crystal (Mike) Simmons; grandchildren: Tyler (Ashley) Selby, Macey (Derek) Pruett, Carissa Selby, Claire Lefevre, Jacob Selby; step-grandchildren: Lyndie Simmons, Hagan Simmons, Dustin (Chris) Blake, Sara Whitchurch); great-granddaughter: Ruby Mae Pruett. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday December 18, 2021 at Hillside Funeral Home, 2929 W. 13th St. N., Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or The Kansas Food Bank.
