79, Wichita, KS, beloved husband, father, papa, and, brother, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2022. John loved and cherished his family above anything else in this world and was strong in his faith. He would do anything to help anyone in their time of need and served his community throughout his life. John retired from Beech Aircraft as a senior buyer. He was born in Bay Springs, Mississippi on August 10, 1943 to Buford Kenneth Langston and Dovie Mae (Stringer) Holder. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva Lilia Holder; sister, Dorothea Holder; nephew, Jeff Loyd. He is survived by his daughters, Christy (Shawn) Hawks, and Mindy (Travis) Swett; siblings, Anita Loyd, Rufus Holder, Veronica Holder and Rebecca North; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Kaelee Johnson, Avery (Grace) Hawks, Carson Hawks, Evan Swett, and Abbie Swett; great-grandchildren, Conner Smith and Elsie Hawks; nieces and nephews, Charles Loyd, Kenneth Holder, April Holder, Lindsey Tucker, Anthony Tucker, Ian Meyer, Ariel Croom, Tara Morgan, Erika Holder, Cory Carter, and Hannah Fisher. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 3:00 pm, Cornerstone Christian Church, 5531 E. 37th St. N, Wichita, KS 67220.

Margaret Dendurent (Meyer)

So sad to see yet another classmate pass from this life.  Sounds like I will get to spend Eternity with him, though!  My condolances to the family.

Herbert Wiley Jr

John and I were roomates in a little apartment on 2nd street in 1963-4 going to Wichita State. We had some great times together. He was a very hard worker and went out of his way to help those in need particularly when his family needed him. Its great to see that he was surrounded by a large family and I am sure he was dedicated to helping them and they were the joy of his life.
