James A. “Jim” Conley, “went home” with a big smile on his face and was surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Jim was born November 22, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. and Bessie C. Conley. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carole, of the home; two sisters, Nina Conkle and Carolyn Harris, both of Wichita; two daughters, Tiffany Phillips, of Franktown, CO and Heather Biermaier, of Wichita; a son, Christopher, of Haysville. In addition, there are 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Jim attended Stanley Elementary, Allison Junior High and graduated from Wichita West with the Class of 1962. He served in the United States Army from March 1963 to March 1966. Jim was the owner of Taco J’s Snack Factory since September 1981. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4118 and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Rosary, 7 p.m., Thursday, May 2; Mass of Christian Burial, 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 3, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
