Classmates:

With All the Attention Angela required, with her Broken Right Hip, and Partial Replacement, I missed this one!!!  Were any of you aware, he was a Nashville Recording Artist?? As I recall, he was kinda bashful, not very outgoing, etc.. Hope he had a lot of Success, in the Music Business....

Rest In Peace, Old Friend!!

Max

Denzil sat immediately behind me in home room at Allison Intermediate. I found his “just-as-am” attitude and mid-plains country boy accent very intriguing. (I was always a confused city boy...especially after being country was cool.)                    I lost track of Denzil in high school, I guess because we didn’t have any classes together. Decades later I read about Denzil Alcorn and his xxxx band and thought “Could that be the guy that sat behind me in Jr Hi?” - but I failed to follow up up on my own  question.                 It makes me happy to know now that  he did go on to achieve Nashville fame.

Denzil had a band, called The Golden Jubilee's, in Wichita for several years. My husband, Keith, played lead guitar for him. Denzil was a song writer, also, having written 1,500 songs.

Judith:

Trying to locate Denzils Discography, or songs he is credited with writing, copyrighted, to no avail?? Could he have written songs, under another name, like a pen name, for an author?? Appreciate any further light you can shine on this subject??

Kind Regards,

Max

Max,
I really don't know if he had a pen name. He had recorded several way back when Keith was in the band. Denzil had Nashville musicians on the records.
At his funeral, it was said that he had written that many. I will try to find out more information and let you know.
